Vacancy Details

Vacancies and Reservations for Various Categories

Annexure B of the CEN contains the detailed list of Railway and post-wise vacancies for all the notified positions. This includes specific reservations for candidates belonging to the following categories:

  • Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST)
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC) (Non-Creamy Layer)
  • Economically Weaker Sections (EWS)
  • Ex-Servicemen (ExSM)
  • Candidates from the Culture and Arts (CCAA)
  • Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD)

Candidates should carefully review Annexure B to understand the distribution of these vacancies and the reserved slots, which are an essential part of the recruitment process.

Important Note Regarding Vacancy Changes

Candidates are also advised to note that the number of vacancies may be subject to change based on the requirements of the Railway Administration. The total number of vacancies could either increase or decrease during the recruitment process. For further details on this, candidates are encouraged to refer to Para 1.11 of the General Instructions section, which outlines the provisions for adjustments in vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must have passed Class 10th (Matriculation) or ITI from a recognized board/institution.

Qualifications for Each Post (As per Annexure A)

Candidates are advised to refer to Annexure A for the specific educational qualifications required for each post.

1. Essential Qualifications
Candidates must have the educational or technical qualifications mentioned in the Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) from a recognized Institute or University by the final date for submission of applications, which is 22nd February 2025. Please ensure that you meet these qualifications by this deadline.

2. No Pending Results
Candidates who are waiting for the results of their final exams for the required educational or technical qualifications should not apply. Only those who have completed their qualifications before the closing date can be considered for application.

3. No Substitution for Qualifications
Please note that a Diploma/Degree in Engineering cannot be used as a substitute for Course Completed Act Apprentices or ITI qualifications for Level-1 posts unless specifically stated. Additionally, Graduate Act Apprentices will not be accepted in place of the required Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).

4. Relaxation for Canteen Staff (MB Division NR)
In compliance with the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s order dated 12th July 2016, in the case of Mohan Singh & Others v/s Chairman, Railway Board, the canteen staff of MB Division NR are permitted to apply for this CEN. Taking into account their work experience, these staff members are given some relaxation in their educational qualifications. The minimum education requirement for them to class 7th pass.

RRB Group D Selection Process

The selection process comprises the following stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT):

Total Marks: 100

Exam Duration: 90 minutes

Subjects: General Science-25, Mathematics-25, General Intelligence and Reasoning-30, General Awareness & Current Affairs-20

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET):

Male: Lift and carry 35kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes, run 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds.

Female: Lift and carry 20kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes, run 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds.

3. Document Verification:

Candidates qualifying CBT and PET will be called for document verification.

4. Medical Examination:

Candidates must pass the medical fitness test as prescribed by the Railways.

Railway Group D 2025 Salary:

Railway Group D Various Posts Pay level is Level 1 (Initial Pay 18000/-) of 7th Pay Matrix.
